There are 100 counties in North Carolina. There were eight people appointed by the governor today to the newly configured North Carolina State Board of Elections (NCBOE).
Two of the people named to the NCBOE are from Watauga County: Democrat Stella Anderson and Republican Four Eggers.
Watauga remains one of the most influential counties in the state….
The new configuration of the board reflects a battle between the Republican-dominated North Carolina General Assembly and Gov. Roy Cooper, a Democrat. It was a reflection of the deep unpopularity of former Gov. Pat McCrory that the Republicans lost the governor’s office in a year where North Carolina went for Trump.
